Our Story

CardioLearn began as a personal endeavor for founder Tooba Alwani to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application in cardiology, with a specific focus on ECGs. Partnering with expert faculty at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, we have carefully curated a curriculum to help residents and medical students alike improve their ECG reading skills.

Meet The Creators

Tooba Alwani, MD

Dr. Tooba Alwani is a second-year internal medicine resident at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston, MA, with a deep passion for medical education. Recognizing the challenges many residents face in interpreting ECGs, she played a key role in developing an interactive, multimodal ECG curriculum for her residency program. Her clinical interests include general cardiology, heart failure, and cardiac imaging, and she aspires to pursue a career as an academic cardiologist.

Jason D. Matos, MD

Dr. Jason Matos is a clinical/non-invasive Cardiologist at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center (BIDMC) in Boston, MA. Academically, he serves as a Firm Chief in the Blumgart Firm for the Internal Medicine Residency Program and oversees the inpatient cardiology curricula for the residency as well. He also is a member of the core faculty for the BIDMC Cardiology Fellowship. Dr. Matos has a busy outpatient practice and attends on inpatient Cardiology wards and CCU, while also specializing in transesophageal echocardiograms and cardiac MRI. Research interests include clinical outcomes associated with advanced imaging markers and the merits of systemic anticoagulation for subclinical and post-operative atrial fibrillation
